What if I'm not sure what to practice?

Learning moves is one thing but if you want to grow as a dancer you will need to know what to work on and it what order. That’s where the Lindy Hop Roadmap comes in. Michael and Evita developed this extensive curriculum over the course of a decade, designed to help students progress from first steps to advanced (and above) moves & technique.

Level 1 - Your Journey begins here, as Michael and Evita break down core Swing rhythms and patterns. Everything builds upon this material.

Level 2 - This level will introduce all the essential shapes you need to get started and have a good social dance.

Level 3 - In this level we start adding variations to the moves you have already learned, plus we mix in Charleston & solo jazz.

Level 4 - In the Intermediate level we add more variations and moves to your vocabulary. Each requires stronger balance and coordination while still leading and following.

Level 5 - The moves in this level challenge dancers to change or vary their footwork and rhythm while not losing their time or place in the step. You will find more challenging turns and traveling moves at this level.

Level 6 - This is our Advanced Lindy Hop Course. This combines everything we've learned thus far, plus the challenge of multiple directions and re-directions.

It's totally up to you. We think you'll have more fun if you complete your profile and contribute to the forums, but you can also use the platform just to learn and practice on your own. We find that dancers progress the fastest when they join with friends and participate in our live feedback 'Office Hours.'
