Cultural Resources
It has always been important to us to acknowledge the African American originators of this art form and the Black cultural roots of this dance that we love so much. As teachers and performers of Lindy Hop and Jazz movement, we acknowledge that we are but visitors in an African American art form. Now more than ever we must listen to and amplify the voices of those who share their experiences of injustice and inequality, as we endeavor to continue educating ourselves and our students in the contributions and struggles by Black, Indigenous, and People Of Color.
This page is dedicated to providing us all resources about African American dance, music, and cultural issues. Content will be dynamic, and suggestions for new resources are welcomed.
