It’s time for this month’s Live Online Session, and for this one, we’re teaching an Advanced two 8cts sequence from one of our favorite and most inspirational dance couples – David Dalmo and Åsa Rikardsson. They are a Swedish duo who were some of the best Lindy Hoppers from the early- to mid-1990s, and if you have never heard of them, you should definitely brush up on your modern Lindy history!
To prepare yourselves for our lesson, please watch this clip of them dancing in a teacher’s demo from 2011 in Bern, Switzerland. The sequence we’ll study happens in the first two 8s, right as they begin dancing, and let us tell you…it’s a DOOZY!. If you can start to break down the rhythms before we meet, it will allow Evita and I to talk more about the intricate Lead/Follow dynamics within the step.
Of course you can simply tune in and watch, but we encourage everyone to ask questions. If you have the space and a partner, please try it out with us, and we will be able to give you feedback instantly. We hope you can join us in some capacity, and here are the details:

p.s. For added “inspiration,” I’ve included a clip of Evita and I from Herräng 2010, where we first learned the step. If you watch carefully you can even see David in the background laughing at our feeble attempt. Enjoy! 😀
